| They'll do anything to try and make their filthy habits look natural. There have always been Christian fringe groups (i.e. Episcopalians) trying to say Homosexuality is right. It's not. End of Discussion. I mean, God destroyed an entire city of homosexuals in the Old Testament, and that dudes not really one to go back on what he says. EDIT: I'm guessing this was the average day in Sodom and Gamorrah | |

| I don't think that's the point. The point is that the current social norm in Christian culture of shunning homosexuality is in fact a modern phenomenon. http://www.amazon.com/Christianity-Social-Tolerance-Homosexuality-Fourteenth/dp/0226067114http://www.amazon.com/Same-Sex-Unions-Premodern-Europe-Boswell/dp/0679751645/ref=pd_cp_b_1?pf_rd_p=413864201&pf_rd_s=center-41&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=0226067114&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1BG2TW6ZR3GRASH7XN0MEdit: The second is the more recent work, and you save you a click here's a brief review from the Amazon page, - Quote :
- Not since Boswell's Christianity, Social Tolerance, and Homosexuality (Univ. of Chicago Pr., 1981) have Christians of all creeds confronted a work that makes them look so closely at their notions of the relationship between the church and its gay and lesbian believers. Diligently researched and documented, this immensely scholarly work covers everything from the "paired" saints of Perpetua and Felicitas and Serge and Bacchus to lesbian transvestites in Albania. Examining evidence that the early church celebrated a same-sex nuptial liturgy, Boswell compares both Christian same-sex unions to Christian heterosexual unions and non-Christian same-sex unions to non-Christian heterosexual unions. Appendixes contain, among other things, translations and transcriptions of cited documents. Whether or not minds are changed on the matter will probably fall along sectarian lines, according to current attitudes on homosexuality. However, the work will provoke dialog. A groundbreaking book for academic, public, and theological libraries.

| I find it incredibly hard to believe someone would choose to be gay just to piss of Christians. Being openly gay is so hard because of Christians, I don't think someone would bring that upon themselves just for the fun of it. | |

| I wonder how many of the people voting for it believe that if it fails they will suddenly see a bunch of gay marriages in their church.
Wait a minute... nevermind, they believe in space people and talking animals already. | |
