OMG, i'm so bad at throwing flowers... lol. Well I think i could be a good addition because I have some good raiding experiences as a mage and I am serious in this game, in raids, and I can handle it if I made a mistake.

Only because they make you respec three times right before Sapph and your hearth is on CD

Didn't see you on today, but most people don't notice in the application we actually ask if you're reading to be online for the next scheduled raid to be tried out and what not, and I doubt anyone told you otherwise so I'll be inclined not to hold it against you until a later time.

So, the next raid is Thursday at 6pm server, though being on 15-30 minutes beforehand will count in your favor. Pretty sure we're doing Naxx25 since we killed everything else, so try to be familiar with everything except the first boss, who we killed and called it because the entire place was laggy as all hell.

Oh, and bring a flask since we're going to be checking your dps every couple of minutes during the entire thing.

Not sure what screen resolution you play with, but if you can fit these addons in there, I would at least try them to see if they improve things for you:

From what I remember about you, you were always on time and ready to raid. CDG was far from a good raiding guild (I would know, I was the GM), but ilu for remembering those times. CDG never got past KZ in BC, so I can't really provide any positives or negatives dps-wise or anything statistically-based, but I know that you were on time and available for all of our raids at that time.

As of patch 3.0.7 (and all patches in the near foreseeable future) Mages are run of the mill DPS classes. Their throughput is adequate, and in addition to their DPS and crit debuff they bring quaint ancillary benefits like ports, water, CC, and Arcane Intellect. So what the bleep does this have to do with your app?

We have a Mage. I happen to like him (when he shows up to raids). As it stands the marginal utility of bringing a second Mage to a raid is rather low. What this means for you is that we are looking for the following: you possess a good grasp of game mechanics and read up on boss strategies before stepping foot into them for the first time, you show up to darn close to every raid, you make liberal use of consumables and escape abilities (ie. pots and healthstones, blink and iceblock) so you aren't falling over dead every encounter, and that your DPS remains satisfactory while you maintain five stacks of Improved Scorch at all times.

If you can do the aforementioned, you are a shoe-in to be accepted into the guild. Why did I spell out in basic detail every bit of minutia we are looking for? It wasn't because I was trying to be patronizing. Looking at your app two concerns pop at me immediately: You have relatively limited raiding experience, and your gear is significantly behind the curve of the rest of our guild.

By no means should (or does) this disqualify you from being accepted into the guild. Far from it! As the DPS Caster Officer I wanted to inform you as to what I will be looking for during your trial run. The paradigm of the definition of a "good Mage" has changed. Huge crits and topping the DPS charts are no longer the play on the field.

I hope this wall of text doesn't scare you off, and I look forward to seeing you at tomorrow's raid (Thursday 01/08/09 @ 6:00). In the meantime I would try to get as many upgrades as quickly as possible. Skimming your armory, there are substantial upgrades for your second ring, boots, and legs from a number of Heroic Dungeons. Work on bringing up your hit rating first, spellpower and crit can follow later.
