[APPROVED] Arklon - 10-48-3 fire mage

I am using the 10-48-3 spec as I am mostly in T5 content. I expect to respec to fire with IV, which is more appropriate for T6 content. Haste seems to make a much larger factor once you approach the 1200 damage mark.

A shadow resist set for Mother Sharhaz? (any pieces?) No, I do not have a shadow resist set built. I only lack the hearts of darkness to have the soulguard items crafted.

What is your trinket set-up? Do you need any obvious upgrades? (DST, HSH, etc?) Like most people I have tons of trinkets, but like to use the Icon of the silver cresent and darkmoon card: crusade. I would love to get HSH, but have not been lucky enough to win the roll, as of yet.

Where are you from? (do you speak/understand English well?) I am from TN, but currently live in TX. I speak/understand english well.

How old are you? I am 29. Do not tell my wife, as she doesn't want to admit she is the same age.

Do you have a mic/headset for vent? Yes, I have a mic/headset for vent.

Do you have Grid, XPerl, PallyPower, or some other UI that helps you buff, pick up lose aggro, etc? I use xperl at the moment.

Raid Experience No pre BC raiding, as I started playing only 2 weeks before the expansion came out.

Mag -- clear
SSC -- cleared everything but lady vash. I have only gotten her down to about 30%.
TK -- 3/4 downed VR and solarian, attempted alar
Mt H -- 3/5 downed Rage and Anetheron. Got Kaz'rogal to about 8% before wiping, only had one attempt at him.
BT -- none sadly

Guild History I was in Baraka for most of my time in game, and really enjoy playing with most of the people. I simply wanted to look for people that enjoy raiding as much as I do. I am currently in Deep Blue, which does not have a need for mages at this point. I am to far behind their raiders in term of gear to catch up. I do not mind sitting on the waitlist, but even a bridesmaid can dream of getting to dance.

Preparedness for the next scheduled raid, unless stated here I will not be available for a raid on Friday August 1st due to work schedule. My company is having an open house this coming Saturday causing the plant to shut down. To maintain production schedule we will work double shifts taking up Friday night. We only do this once about every 5 years, so making the Friday raid will not typically be a problem.

Reason(s) for applying I have been in groups with members of this guild for heroic pugs, and they seemed to be good players and were fun in the groups. The second reason is that I would like to raid, and I covered my current situation in the guild history section.

Final Thoughts, why you would be a good addition to Damage Done I believe I would be a positive addition to damage done, because I am a dependable player. I enjoy playing and improving not only my toon, but the people around me as well. I don't create drama, as I leave that to the soap operas. Although I do enjoy the late night drunk run, I appreciate the difference when raiding and needing to get the job done. This means leave your feelings at the door, as it is just a game. But we wouldn't be playing this if we didn't want to win.

It is unfortunate about the numbers in a title, hope it is not a trend. Thought it might be appropriate by reading some of the previous apps, where the specs were of concern.

Clearcasting is viable up through the T5 content, as most of the itemization is not correct for haste to over take damage and hit. I believe the T6 content is when the gear starts to be able handle the load of all that wonderful haste. As I said in my app, I fully intend to respec to the IV talent. Should take about a week or so to get the cool downs managed. After all being a mage is all about watching and blowing all your cooldowns as much as possible.

clearcasting has officially been useless since 2.3 regardless of what content you're in, the regen of pots and mana gems are equal to and much better than clearcasting, IV wins in any situation you can think of.

Ark is a pretty wicked mage. Ran with him back in the day with my warlock a whole bunch... although.. I've actually never beat him on a roll for loot that we both wanted...

Ya arklon is one of the best mages i have gotten the chance to play with, was alway a good and reliable raider when we where raiding in baraka. he knows his class very well, but if not afraid to take advise.

I'd say to get Subtlety to your cloak... but it's a stupidly expensive enchant to put on a cloak when you might replace it. Your gear is pretty nice

So you didn't make Friday, which was understandable given your circumstance. You made Sunday, but weren't needed given that we only had 2 bosses left and a lot of people to pick from. However, you didn't make Tuesday, which makes me wonder what your interest level really is.

First off, I do need to apologize for not posting on Tuesday. I had real life jump up and bite me.

I understand it is a strike against me, as it should be. My interest level can only be shown by showing up prepared at the scheduled raid times, whether I am needed or not. I will continue to be ready, and check with you on the raid days, as I don't expect to miss any more.
