No actually, getting awareness out there that this proposition is coming up. Vote anyway you want. We can still see each other Necis nothing wrong with that. Gay marriage is wrong.

Did a married gay couple kidnap your dog or something? In all seriousness though, I fail to see how letting gay people be married affects you negatively.

What will be taught to my children in public schools. Everyone has an opinion of whether is is right or wrong to be gay and reasons to justify them. Let people make their own decisions as to how to live their lives. I just don't want my children to be taught that other peoples opinions (which I disagree with) are morally right, in public schools. In no way am I advocating to limit or reduce gay rights. I want marriage to stay the way it is and always has been, between and man and a woman.

| Gay marriage is only gonna lead to gay divorces, and we CAN'T have that. Divorce is a special thing between a guy that leaves the toilet seat up and that bitch who cheated on him! | |

| I get what your saying Xeos, but I dont think that same sex marriage has gotten even close to enough support that it would be advocated as an OK thing to do, especially if taught to children. Parents, churches, and many other group would raise hell if they found out about this. | |

| I don't see the harm in marriage being open to anyone wanting to get married. I don't remember there being a big section in any classes I took in school about marriage and its definition. Sheltering kids from things like that doesn't keep them from whatever fear you have that it might cause. What if you child was gay and later in life wanted to get married, would you tell them they are wrong and can't enjoy the same status as other people because they are different?
You say you're not for reducing gay rights but the very subject of this conversation is the reduction of gay rights. Marriage hasn't "always been between a man and a woman" because the inventors of marriage thought gay marriage was bad and made the distinction.

4 Judges in California just ruled it ok. We are raising hell now.

I can't be positive, but I am pretty sure that marriage was/is a religious institution. I will have to research that a bit. Gay's can and do have all the rights of a married couple now, without being married. - Galt wrote:

| TBH I am not the most qualified person to be debating this topic. I posted it as a reference to a proposition that is coming up and in support of it. oh and BTW damn your town and its judges for making that ruling TR! | |

im going 2 have 2 agree with these 2..... and im American >.< anyway as to what i took from the site...... As i don't personally care what you choose to take to your bed (man, women, or dog...) or get married to (as every man i know has always said if the gays wants to suffer with the rest of us let 'em), my major issue comes from the courts Overturning our voted right and weather i agree or disagree with what is being voted on, I have to say that the vote being ignored all together kind of annoys me, cause lets face it if the court can chuck this what is to keep them from overturning something that is IMPORTANT

Sexual orientation is determined by a combination of genetic, hormonal, and environmental influences. What we learn in psychology class: Theories of causalityp.s. God doesn't exist.

| Xeos, I take it your position originates from a religious point of view so I won't try to debate you because its what you believe, thats perfectly fine. I do however think it is not right for the government to enforce religious based viewpoints such as gay marriage being wrong. Marriage wasn't created from religion but if you are religious you are free to define marriage however you see fit. When I was married I didn't have it at a church and none of the dialog was religious and my marriage certificate came from a government building. If one chooses to have a wedding the same way then there shouldn't be any religious bearing on how they define their marriage or conduct their ceremony.
My .02 and I'll leave it at that.
