PVE Talent Spec

0/5/56 As my raid spec
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hZxZEsxtVeoted

Armory Link:

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Twisting+Nether&n=Seiei

Stats (Unbuffed)

Healing:2204
Mp5 (while casting):226
Hit:0%
Crit: 9.60%
Haste: 50

Do you have a 2min PvP Trinket?

Yes (this question is in format section (first post) but not the template(second post)

Do you have The Medallion of Karabor?

Yes

A shadow resist set for Mother Sharhaz? (any pieces?)

Yes

What is your trinket set-up? Do you need any obvious upgrades? (DST, HSH, etc?)

My trink setup atm is focused more on healing and mp5, tho the memento from illidan would be nice

Where are you from? (do you speak/understand English well?)

Canada and yes i can understand/speak English.

How old are you?:

20

Do you have a mic/headset for vent?:

Both

Do you have Grid, XPerl, PallyPower, or some other UI that helps you buff, pick up loose aggro, etc?:

As a Healer i personally use Grid/Omen for raiding

Raid Experience:
Pre-BC: N/A

BC: I've done everything from kara all the way to brutallus, killed kael/vashj in 3 different guilds

Guild History: Lucky Charms from chromaggus killed kael and a few weeks the gm disbanded the guild due to some officer drama, Ubiquity from chromaggus... after we got to Illidan and suddenly people stopped showing and guild disbanded, and last of all Blitzkrieg of Twisting Nether more guild drama... people wanted a new gm and the gm refused to step down.

Acknowledgment of agreement to our rules and times:

Yes, I acknowledge the agreement to your rules and times

Preparedness for the next scheduled raid, unless stated here:

I have everything farmed and ready, xfer asap

Reason(s) for applying:

I have a feel that you guys/girls will be still raiding in wotlk and i want to get in that bus

Final Thoughts, why you would be a good addition to Damage Done:

Damage done? not sure about that but i'm a great raid healer and it seems that your guild is looking for one Very Happy

If possible, please include a screenshot of your UI?

UI eh.... well i have a youtube video of me healing a mothersharaz fight

Hi, I'm the Healing Officer. In an act that is as rare as I am helpful I was going to give your character a thorough run-down but either the armory hasn't updated or you're in your pvp healing gear. So maybe I'll get around to it in a few hours.

Shamans tend to get a lot of small variation as far as their talents go (Generally concerning Totemic Focus, Imp Ghostwolf, and Healing Grace) but you're the first I've seen in a while without Focused Mind in their raid spec. Why is that?

i have a question along your lines Ich (i also see he arena specced and geared right now on his armory) however it is not why he don't have focues mind (i myself view this more as a PVP talent then a raid talent) but why he don't have imp GW since he has Ancestral knowledge... he could lose his 1 point in Imp reincarnation and one from totamic focus for this talent....

The only place atm that imp gw is useful is sw and hyjal, not necessary for archimonde fire is easy to avoid and brutallus's burn? not much of a concern to me

Many resto shaman make the mistake of specing 0/5/56, you should have a look at this article on shaman healing: http://elitistjerks.com/f47/t24796-shaman_restoration/

Como, you do know Div is 0/5/56 right?

Since it\'s now showing you in what I assume is your PvE Gear, I only have a few questions.
- The 4 Int/2mp5 is widely regarded as the worst healing gem that exists that still falls within the lines of having stats we actually care about so unless your belt is next in the list of things to be upgrades in the imediate future (since I think there is a badge belt) I\'m curious as to the gem choises instead of simply putting two 10 Haste gems in it.
- Boar\'s Speed, however marginal, provides an increase to both HPS and survivability. Plainly put, the less time you spend moving to the next point in which you can plant yourself the smaller the gap between your heals. There a terribly pressing reason as to why you went with Vitality instead?

what does it matter? i would still outheal you imo
40yard healrange is pretty big... boarspeed? for more hps???? thats where nature's guardian comes in. I find vitality superior to boarspeed in most cases

my belt? i got it pre 2.4 and it took forever for my server to open the anvil/gem vendor... soo long that blizz decided to open it for us and by that time i took a break from wow

Boar's speed is never for the hps, it's so you can move out of the fire that much faster. It's a survivability enchant - if you die, you aren't getting ANY mp5 at all. Now, having never raided with you, that might not be a problem with you, but it's still a good idea. Running back faster after a wipe or any of that kind of stuff is all affected by it too.

Boar's Speed will give you more HPS time because you will spend less time moving, period.

4mp5 from Vitality is hardly noticable.

I think what Ich was try to point out by the gem choice was that you could have gone with 8 haste gems in the sockets instead of your current gems as these where an option even without the gem vendor..

as to the whole Boarspeed\Vitality thing IMO you would be better off with boarspeed since you have gone the +healing route over the MP5 route since you only really have 176mp5 while casting unbuffed.... also it maynot be a good idea to call out the our healing office on being about to out heal him (besides any shammy can out heal most classes just by face smashing the keyboard....)

also im going to ask the same question that Como ask... Why the 0/5/56 build?

The video was a really nice touch. I wonder if we should make all recruits include a movie...

On a more serious note, I get the feeling you are getting overly defensive about nothing. A 0/5/56 spec may heal fine, but if there is something better, why not go for it? The same applies to your boot enchant. While you may be able to outheal our resident Fury Warrior (Comotosis) or most other non-AoE healing classes (brain heal) the simple truth is that there is a reason we push all our members to min-max their characters to the fullest. I may be able to do my job just fine without using a Flask of Pure Death, but if I don't use one, and no one else in the raid does, the cumulative DPS loss is quite significant. The same logic applies for enchants, gems, etc. Sure, 90% of the time Boar's Speed will probably not do a lot of good for you. But on fights that require quick movement, and lots of it (Council, Kalecgos, Brutallus, to name a few), the extra move speed comes in handy. There are times when I've been brought down to below 90 HP. Sure it's rare, but if it prevents a death, and possibly a wipe, why not get it? The benefits of Boar's Speed far outweigh any other enchant.

the truth is i would rather prefer 0/7/54 for gw or 8/0/53. Movement on Kalecgos and brutallus? comon how hard is it to miss a portal on kalecogs... even after you get targeted by the portal and when you teleport back on top, you wont be hit by another portal damage unless i'm retarded and love standing on someone who doesnt have the debuff. Brutallus you only need to move when you recieve the burn debuff.

The only time i went 8/0/53 was during my ssc/tk days. 0/7/54 was my spec in bt/hyjal

The point is not how much movement is involved, but rather the importance of the little bit of movement that is required.
