Anyways else excited?!

(For the record, I don't believe in the end of the world predictions.)

Isn't it still going to be like 3 months before they actually start colliding particles in what people fear will cause the mini black hole end of the world shit?

But yeah pretty pumped on it.

I actually helped build the inner-most shell of detectors in one leg of the LHC. Does this make me responsible if the world collapses?

I'd prefer a scenario where some superior alien race comes down and slaps the shit out of us for creating unlicensed black holes against intergalactic regulations. At least we'd have an answer to that question before we bow to our new galactic overlords.

Glad to see it's happening, but the collisions that destroy the Earth won't happen for about 3 months.

I was imagining more of a failure to notify a galactic bureaucracy and suffering imminent destruction in a Hitchhikers guide scenario, but Star Trek has indeed covered most of the "first contact" meme's. Perhaps in a years time we will all be building new pyramids to host our Goa'uld masters. Anyways take your pick of Sci-Fi themes.

As a Marvel fan, the LHC looks to me like a scientific disaster waiting to happen, and there will be some guy who gets zapped by rays of some sort from another dimension or has his molecules re-arranged, therefore becoming a Superhero.

BRB Gettin my Galactus cosplay suit out...
