PostSubject: Computer help   Sun Aug 03, 2008 2:40 pm

Ok, I know the basics of computers and such and thats about it. I have this laptop I have been trying to get working and it was for about a month. The main problem is for some reason it has Grub on it, so I found out how to get into xp finally from grub and have just been doing that for a while. Now it continually restarts itself and gets to a phoenix bios screen showing memory and such (not the actual bios). and keeps restarting from there. Now it will go into Bios just fine. I have tried to reformat it and that doesnt seem to do anything.

When and If I get lucky and get it to the grub prompt screen, the keyboard doesnt respond...but the keyboard works fine in bios. Anybody who has any clue what to do please help.

Yea it sees the HDD. Its weird that you cant wipe grub out completely by reformatting. Grub is some shit that was put on there when they were fucking with linux, and now its just a pain in the ass.
